About Me: Up Close and Personal
I’m so glad you’ve arrived. at Weather Things Online! This is where I share with you all of the weather information that I can get my hands on. My goal is helping others who are being affected by weather emergencies..
I have been studying, spotting, and chasing weather for the better part of my life. I seem to have an affinity with weather things. I love the study of weather., any kind of weather, and on that note, a funny story: I have been looking up at the sky with my mother since the time I developed memory for it. She would drag me out of the house and point at the sky for me to look at whatever had drawn her attention. Then I, too, would be gazing upward in pure awe and wonder. One of my very first wishes was to know how to forecast weather, and during those weather events that my mother and I tracked there was food! Those memories were very strong, so much that I have associations with different meals with my mother about different storms! One of the strongest comes to mind when I was eating the lunch that I was supposed to have at school but school was canceled early that day because of snow and ice. I unpacked it at the kitchen table and gulped it down because I wanted to go outside and play in the falling snow. It contained Ranch Doritos and a chicken sandwich. That day they tasted extra good! The memory stuck and now every time I have Ranch Doritos that memory comes flooding back and makes me happy. I have many, many examples like that one. Winter storms got me hooked on chocolate milk and also hot chocolate.
I'm endlessly fascinated by the way weather works and always will be.
